PB&J 2.0

Today's creation is a loose variation on what is probably the most popular sandwich in the US, Peanut Butter and Jelly.
------------
Pop Tart's were on sale at the local grocery store this week, so I decided to get creative with a package of the strawberry flavored pastries.

The fruit flavored insides of a Pop Tart are kind of like jelly aren't they? Well that's what I thought, so I threw some peanut butter in between them and set out to enjoy my PB&J 2.0.

Surprisingly, it was quite tasty. I thought that the sweetness of the frosting might get in the way of the taste but I think the saltiness of the peanut butter covered all of that up. By the end of it I actually wished that they made Pop Tarts a little bigger so that I would have more to enjoy! I dont think I will ever use Pop Tarts as a substitute for bread in the classic sandwich but this was a fun and interesting (and successful) experiment.

Stay tuned for more crazy concoctions and unusual eats on I Can't Believe That's Edible!

  1. You should have toasted the Pop-Tarts. That would have put it over the top.
